this is a good comprehensive Herald article. i have this morning spent some time reading riverbend, chris albritton and juan cole, and it seems pretty clear that the most likely outcome for iraq is civil war. as this article concludes, by that time the US will be out of the country, it will be all campaign all the time, and one more civil war in one more godforsaken country won't matter to most americans. it will no longer be "our" problem. despite the fact that we will have created it.

Juan Cole is a great source about the Iraq War and related issues. Sometimes I think instead of posting anything here about Iraq, I should just say, "Remember to read Juan Cole's blog today." - Bruce
