Iraq War: Wes Clark on Congress' Responsibility

The General (Wesley Clark) has challenged Congress to investigate whether Bush committed a crime in the way he led the country into the Iraq War. By the way, "the General" was what most of Andy Jackson's supporters called him. Nobody really called him "Andy" when he was around. I don't think I'm allowed to use the words here I would need to describe what his enemies called him.

Today's General has gone where most Democrats have been afraid to go, so far: Clark: Congress Should Probe Whether Bush Committed Crime ThePittsburghChannel.com 01/16/04.

Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark says it is up to Congress to determine whether President George W. Bush's march to war in Iraq amounted to a criminal offense.

Asked if misleading the nation in going to war would be criminal, Clark told reporters, "I think that's a question Congress needs to ask. I think this Congress needs to investigate precisely" how the United States wound up in a war "that wasn't connected to the threat of al-Qaida." Wesley Clark is calling for a congressional investigation of whether President George W. Bush's march toward war in Iraq involved anything criminal. Do you think Bush committed a crime in his march to war?YesNoI'm not sure, but I think an investigation would help. ...

Clark has called for a full congressional probe into why the United States went to war in Iraq, but his comments Thursday marked the first time he had hinted at possible criminal wrongdoing.

Maybe the Republicans can try attacking the General's patriotism.
