Old Hickory Sightings

Old Hickory's face appears prominently on John Scalzi's By the Way, the mothership blog for AOL Journals.  Always nice to see a picture of the great man.

Not only that, but John has generously added Old Hickory's Weblog to his revolving Other Journals list.  Thanks much for the added visibility, John!

I am going to post more stuff about Andy Jackson.  That's not just a tag line for the Journal.   But meanwhile, you can check out The Hermitage Web site. (For Yankee readers, no, that's not the one in Russia; it's the Jackson homestead in Tennessee.)

If you're ever in the Nashville area, be sure to stop by the General's mansion for a visit.  Their gift store has an excellent selection of Andrew Jackson kitsch that it would be a sin to miss.  Hey, the gift store photo at the Web site has a life-size bust of Old Hickory!  I'm definitely going to have to pay another visit there soon.

And, by the way, the Kate Campbell song mentioned in the heading (from her Rosaryville CD) is based on the love of Andrew and Rachel Jackson.  I'm sure of it.
