Israel publicly admits to having nuclear weapons. Or not.

It didn't register with me when I first saw Israeli Prime Minister Olmert say that Iran wanted nuclear weapons just like the US and Israel.  But this is the first time an Israeli official has admitted to having nuclear weapons, even though they've had them since the 1970s and everyone was aware of that fact.

It didn't register until I saw this article, Olmert admite implícitamente que Israel tiene armas nucleares El País/Reuters 11.12.06

But rightwing critics back home were upset about it.  The Israeli goverment issued an official denial that Olmert had admitted Israel has nuclear weapons (El Gobierno israelí asegura que Olmert no ha dicho que su país tenga la bomba atómica 20 Minutos.es 12.12.06)
