John Scalzi's weekend challenge is to identify our own favorite post from the last year.
My pick would be Old Hickory and the Indians from 04/08/04. It's a review of a book by the leading Andrew Jackson scholar on Jackson's policies toward the American Indians.
Since I've named this blog after Old Hickory, it's only right that I pick one of my Andy Jackson posts for this exercise. But I really do like the post. It gives an idea about how complicated it can get when you try to romanticize or demonize an actual historical figure.
