And he should know

"I think family matters in a lot of places, just as it does in the United States," the governor [Jeb Bush] said. - Powell and Governor of Florida Arrive in Bangkok by Scott Shane New York Times 01/03/04

Yep, Jeb is visiting Asia as the president's personal representative.  Shane writes, "For Jeb Bush, 51, who is a possible contender for the presidency in 2008 or later, the trip is a first major turn on the international stage when the eyes of millions of Americans are on the disaster."

Come on now, you didn't really think there was a four-year limit on the Bush dynasty, now did you?  It keeps going ... and going ... and going ...

Actually, I'm glad the Bush dynasty, George, Jeb, whoever is up, is putting more emphasis on this.  The president got off to a shaky start on this one.

But I literally won't be surprised if we hear that Jeb is over there brokering a huge contract for relief operations for Halliburton or some other crony capitalist deal.

I agree.  Sending Jeb to personally represent the President was a good idea, and Colin Powell is the perfect guy to represent America).  I sure hope Bush learns something from this -- a few million spent here will do more good than he will ever accomplish for hundreds of billions spent in Iraq.
