The spirit of Chuckie: alive, well, and shootin' off in Texas

Mom's Protest at Bush Ranch Riles Gun-Toting Neighbor by Angela Brown 08/15/05

A man fired a shotgun into the air as about 60 anti-war protesters held a religious service on the road to President Bush's ranch. ...

"I ain't threatening nobody, and I ain't pointing a gun at nobody," [Larry] Mattlage said. "This is Texas."

Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville, Calif., began a protest Aug. 6 on the road that leads to Bush's ranch in memory of her 24-year-old son Casey, who was killed in Iraq last year. Dozens of others have since joined her. ...

He said he fired his gun in preparation for dove-hunting season but when asked if he had another motive, he said, "Figure it out for yourself."

Hail, boy, ah cain't do nothin' to kill no A-rabs in Eye-rack.  You know, ah got me a boil on my butt like ole Rush did, and bunyons on mah feet.

Otherwise ah'd be proud to serve ouah great country over yonder fightin' them there Iraqi terrorists.

Since ah cain't do that, ah figgered ah'd just shoot off mah shotgun to try to intimidate a grievin' mother who's protestin' aginst ouah great and mighty Preznit Bush.  Oh, and all them damn Christians and such out there prayin' for peace.  Prayin' for peace!  Whut a bunch of wimps!

So ah had to show 'em how real men handle thangs!

Oh, and how'd y'all like mah little joke about "dove" huntin'?  Pretty funny, don't y'll thank?  (Yuk, yuk!)
