Old Hickory's spirit is apparently alive and kicking in Tennessee. He probably feels a lot of kinship with Al Gore, having won the 1824 election and seeing it stolen from him afterward.
Gore isn't very happy with the current occupant of the White House (my emphasis):
The Big Pundits have never liked Al Gore. They'll be drooling mad over that one!
It goes without saying how the Freepers will react.

"He betrayed this country!" Mr. Gore shouted into the microphone at a rally of Tennessee Democrats here in a stuffy hotel ballroom. "He played on our fears. He took America on an ill-conceived foreign adventure dangerous to our troops, an adventure preordained and planned before 9/11 ever took place.""He betrayed this country!"? Did the elected President just say that George W. "betrayed this country"?

What he actually said/shouted was...
"I think there were millions just like me, who genuinely, in spite of whatever partisanship they may have felt prior to that time (9/11), genuinely felt like they wanted George W. Bush to lead all of us in America wisely and well. And the reason I'm recalling those feelings now is because those are the feelings that were betrayed by this president! He betrayed this country!...
The mainstream press really has such an attitude about Gore that they don't want to take him seriously as a person or a political leader. But I think he was genuinely very much disturbed over the Iraq War. He opposed it in 2002 when most Congressional Democrats were trying to have it both ways. It don't think that was the devious calculation the press always tries to find in him. I think he really believed it was a bad thing for the country and the world. - Bruce
