Former Halliburton CEO and current Vice President Dick Cheney gave a speech Friday to the hardline conservative Heritage Foundation justifying the Iraq War. Here is a quote summarizing the basic point of the speech:
[T]error ... terrorists ... terror ... September 11, 2001 ... threats ... evil men ... a philosophy of hatred ... 9/11 ... enemies ... 9/11 ... terrorists ... deadlier means of striking us ... terrorists ... chemical, biological or nuclear weapons ... terrorists ... terror regime ... ultimate nightmare ... devastation to our country ... 9/11 ... enemies ... terrorists ... weapons of mass destruction ... terrorist enemy ... terrorists ... terror state ... deadly weapons ... terrorist network ... catastrophic terrorist violence ... terrorists ... 9/11 ... terrorists ... attack ... bombing ... murders ... bombings ... killings ... attack ... attack ... threat ... attack ... 9/11 ... 9/11 ... terrorists ... September 11th ... terrorists ... attacks ... determined, organized, ruthless enemy ... terror ... terrorists ... terror ... terrorists ... terrorists ... terrorists ... terror ... terror ... menace ... reckless and sudden aggression ... terror ... terrorists ... suicide bombers ... poisons, gases ... weapons of mass destruction ... 9/11 ... terrorist ... weapons of mass destruction ... hidden weapons programs ... extremely deadly materials ... WMD programs ... WMD-related program activities ... clandestine network ... chemical and biological weapons ... biological weapons ... biological weapons ... uranium enrichment ... 9/11 ... terrorists ... September 11th ... Terrorist enemies of our country ... the most lethal weapons known to man ... terrorists ... terror states ... gathering threats ... gathering threat ... 9/11 ... terror ... terrorists ... terrorists ... terror ... threat ... dangers ... terror camps ... terrorist ... terrorists ... biological weapons ... deadly agents ... weapons mass destruction [sic] ... terrorists ... attacking America ... terrorists ... Terrorists ... evil ... threats ... a time of peril.
I may have missed a reference or two to "terror" or "9/11" somewhere in there.
Dick Cheney is still chanting the same old prewar chant.
Iraq is a good picture right now of where Dick Cheney's kind of foreign policy will take us.

But they wonder where 70% of Americans got the idea that Saddam had something to do with September 11...
Exactly. It's hard to believe that guys like Cheney aren't more embarassed that their prewar justifications turned out to be so blatantly bogus. They just keep repeating the same old stuff: 9/11, terror, 9/11, threat. I was kind of amazed when I went through it to check for buzzwords like that. - Bruce
