The Republicans who are so worried now about keeping discourse civil may want to check into this: Meanwhile, during a domestic violence prevention conference last week in Frederick, Md., Kendel Ehrlich, wife of the Maryland Republican Gov. Robert Ehrlich, said what countless mothers of teenage girls would like to say.Poor Britney. She's such a sweet, talented, virtuous young lady. And she gets grief like this. What is the world coming to? And why is she having such a hard time making headway into the adult female market segment?
"Really, if I had an opportunity to shoot Britney Spears, I think I would," Ehrlich laughingly told the audience, accusing the 21-year-old pop tart of exaggerating the importance of sex for young girls. She later apologized for the remark.
